COMMISSIONS
If you have an image you would like to have painted a commission is a rewarding way to acquire artwork that truly relates to you or your family.
You provide the artist with images, drawings, or other source material. You will receive three 5x7 inch watercolor sketches each with a different palette and design based on your sources. From this, you are able to envision what your final painting will look like. You choose one of the three designs and negotiate a fee and front payment for materials.
Your painting can be in oil, watercolor, ink, or pastel and is designed in consultation with the artist. Upon payment of the commission front, your painting is started. You may review its progress at any time.
It costs nothing to acquire the 3 watercolor sketches. If you don't like the finished piece you are not obligated to buy it but your front fee is non-refundable. So far no one has found a Norman Nelson commission to be rejected.
Commissions are usually landscapes, but they can be abstracts, pen, ink, or charcoal drawings, mixed media in water-based mediums, or pastel pieces.
